A coming of age love story set in Kerala, Thattathin Marayathu is produced by M.R.Movie Man Productions and stars Nivin Pauly, Isha Talwar, Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Menon. Nivin Pauly plays Sethulakshmi who leaves his native village to go to the US for higher studies after his sister Kalyani (Malavika Mohanan) gets married to Roshan (Abhinandan Balakrishnan). Troubled with homesickness he returns back only to find that Kalyani has eloped with her lover. The heart broken young Sethu falls in love with a girl from the village Aisha (Isha Talwar). The film received mixed reviews, praising the lead performances and chemistry between Pauly and Isha Talwar, however the screenplay was criticized. It was a success at the box office. The movie revolves around a young man named Shivan Kutty (Nivin Pauly) who goes through interesting turns as he falls in love with Aisha (Isha Talwar). The differences between the two families leads to differences between Aisha and Shivan even as their closeness leads to humor. The film was produced by M.R. Movie Man Productions, and distributed by Abinaya Entertainment, which released it in theaters on October 30, 2011. "Thattathin Marayathu" was received without much success at the box office. The film failed to create a lot of buzz with a few positive reviews in the Malayalam Film Industry. The film ended with a total collection of 740 million from Kerala box office alone in about 18 days of its release which is a fraction of the collections being made in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and other places in India due to its low budget. The film was a success in its digital distribution as the movie reached 100,000 views on YouTube within 3 days of its release and was picked up by popular channels. This helped the film to have a longer lifetime in the theaters.
